Happy New Year

I like to finish this year with a quote of one of my favourite artists, Louise Bourgeois :

"to forgive in order to forget
I do not want to re-live the past
I want to experience the present"

Happy 2010 to all!

At this time of the year I always become a bit nostalgic.
Looking at the things I have done in the past, I found these polaroids I shot,
with my friend S. as a model.
It was 2001 and I was living in London. At that time I was making lots of clothes for myself,
so we decided to have some fun and play "fashion photo shooting" and it was good...; )

We have had a very relaxing Christmas. This year we decided not to travel, stay at home and just chill out ...
She has received a doll house ( I spent 2 months, mainly at night, assembling and decorating it...) she is  very happy for this present  although she has realized that Santa doesn't exist!
Mummy is the magic fairy who makes everything!!! :)))
Here's a peeping...

Every little cloud has found a new home, thank you all.
The shop is now closed, I will re open it in January with new products and hopefully some more clouds :-)

A very FINE tea time with lovely presents from Elisabeth!

21.12.09

Back home, I received Elisabeth's beautiful pressies, found a "new" typewriter for peanuts and listening to this
and this .
I will show you more of the pressies tomorrow with the daylight, thank you Elisabeth :-)

I like James Bates 's work.

Good Monday!
This is the quilted blanket I made for her when she was born, my first and only attempt...

I used various cotton fabric from Kaffe Fasset and Liberty and  a  red and white gingham
fabric for the border.
And finally I started her new blue cardigan.
Now we are off to the local Emmaus to see if we can find a base where to put her Xmas present...

Today we had a really great time. We wake up and we saw that the snow covered everything, we grabbed the sledge and went to Cherry Hill, in the middle of the town.
There we met Charity a mum who had made the best snow man (with cat) I ever saw in my life!
Then we gave some grass to the horses, but one of them grabbed a glove of Anita and chewed it for a while, until she started to cry so loudly that he gave it back to her! but she didn't want it because she said it was  yukki and wet!!!

This snow has made our Christmas already, we couldn't ask more ^__^

***Thanks to the kind lady who took the third picture :)***

it is snowing right now...

Here is rain, rain and more rain.
Another view from my window I took a couple of weeks ago.

She asked me to change the colour in her room from "sleeping beauty" (pink) to "cinderella" (blue)...sigh! Well at least we got rid of that very loud pink (the loudest the better!) I let her choose when she was 2 1/2. This time I was wise and restricted the choice to just 2 blues and a pale greyish blue was chosen! you see, we are on our blue time...

And she made this drawing for the blog :-)

A little pot holder and two fridge magnets (part of an ever increasing collections)... :-)
Baking stollens today, the smell is overwhelmingly delicious...

Postcards I found in a thrift shop.
These dolls houses were made around the 1900, they are now in various museums around the world.

The weather forecast has predicted snow...

10.12.09

Today was sunny and nice here, so I went for a walk around town and took some snapshots of house numbers. I've always been noticing them since I was a kid.

One day, a long time ago, while I was walking with a friend to school in my hometown
we noticed an envelope on the ground and we picked it up.Some negative films were
inside the envelope. So, since  we were very curious art students,
we went into the dark room and developed them straight away.
Could you imagine how amazed we were while the images started to appear...
I'm still wondering who these people were or if they are still alive ,
who lost the envelope and where these pictures were taken...
anyway I still keep them on my bookshelf.

Et voila' le forest biscuits :-)
These cool cookie cutters are from here

5.12.09

We went to a local farm today, to buy our little Christmas tree.
Tomorrow it will be decorating time and baking the first batch of gingerbread biscuits, then it will be a whirlwind of crazy baking: since Anita was born I've been baking Stollen at Christmas for family and friends. Felice San Nicola a tutti :-)

3.12.09

There's a new shop in London
and I adore everything in there
in particular this cuckoo clock.

It has been raining a lot here since yesterday. I've got a cold and I'm still in my pj
I have to hurry because I've got to go to see Anita for the Christmas Play at school,
that will certainly cheer me up:-)

I made a new tea cosy, it will be in my shop tomorrow.
