30.1.10

Been watching  this. Things that I used to watched when I was a child, to show Anita that there were some really nice things at that time ...what happened meanwhile?

I love to collect postcards,
to see them around the house.
Liivia, Debora and Fanja postcards around the house.

Now I need frames...

28.1.10

I feel a bit better...I spent three days in bed...but at least I had the time to read a very interesting book.

A great tea swap with Ana ( I love their names especially the third one )
...Tea swap anyone?

The sweetest postcards from  Débora

22.1.10

I feel poorly today and it's raining outside so: fresh orange juice, tea
and porridge for breakfast to gear up.

As my energy levels are nought, I just want to curl up in the sofa and browse some books,
like the one of Maurizio Cattelan artworks which I really like for his sense of dark humor
and that kind of sarcasm that I see often when I go back to Italy.

Feeling nostalgic? perhaps, but maybe it's because of the weather and the grey sky.
A song, dedicated to those who are feeling the same way, even in your own country...
And a movie to watch.

Have a nice week end everyone...

20.1.10

Today I felt that I had to share some happy images from our holidays photo album.
We were in Norway to visit friends and the weather was amazing: sunny and very hot...

18.1.10

When I was around 8 years old one of my best friends was a girl who lived in an house
behind her granma's haberdashery shop...it was like wonderland to me.
In a room there were a big table and a machine to make buttons!
My friend's granma sometimes let us made some (we nagged and nagged and nagged)...
That's perhaps is why I'm so fond of buttons.

So, when I saw these made by Nikole, via Studio mhl I had to give it a try,
perhaps mine are not so good looking but trust me they are really good!

We had a glimpse of sunshine today...how uplifting!

In Anita's room Fanja and Elisabeth's prints, and her "new" curtains.
In our hall Elisabeth's card and Studio Violet drops... ; )

Just a little reminder...4 pink clouds in my handmade shop
this evening 10pm (London time).

15.1.10

I've been looking at this book I found on Etsy, of pretty japanese crochet cushions projects, for a while now...
But  I have the feeling that it would be better to finish all the unfinished stuff I started last year...

Like for example this blanket I started after I saw this, (here a good explanation of how to do it).
Have a nice week end everyone :-)

14.1.10

My final discussion at University was something about the structural chaos of Universe
(in his arty form).
Since then I see structural chaos everywhere, so this is: my sink and its structural chaos
and the law of blogging too much!

13.1.10

Thank you Monique for introduce me to the work of Frank Visser and IJM

PINK CLOUDS

Never mind the grey skies...here come four pink clouds...
Sunday 10pm ( London Time) in my "handmade shop"...

Beautiful books at Jane and Jeremy  .
Veronique Rolland and Jane Wilson photography .

( pictures from J&J website )

Today I spent the whole day moving things around in my living room.
It usually takes quite a long time as I get very distracted looking at stuff,
I was in fact browsing through my books when I found an "abstract artwork"
made by Anita (who knows when) hidden in a Boltansky book and then I
realised that she used one of my "anatomy study" drawings... I like it better like this!
By the way that black and white picture on the top left is me when I was at Art School
with 5mm long hair...

And then I found this cutting from a magazine... I will put it on top of my desk  :-)

Anita's doll house part 1.

Do you remember the mouse in the house? Well that one was a cardboard box...
now, the mouse is called Giulietta and live comfortably in a lovely cottage,
with the baby twins and a little princess.

Please come in...

Giulietta wakes up early  in the morning  and prepare the milk bottles for the twins
and drinks her coffee.

She plays with the twins ...

And after the lunch while the babies have a nap, she relax  knitting and watching  TV...

When the babies wake up, Giulietta takes them for a stroll in the park...
when they are back they have dinner and then bath time and then a bedtime story...

When the babies finally are settled to sleep, she can relax doing some painting

Then she goes in her bedroom to read but she's so tired that she fell aslep
on the rocking chair...

THE END...

Ah,  the Princess bedroom... but this is another story...

New pink clouds soon in my shop

A friend of mine bought a very expensive handmade doll  for her 4 years old daughter as a present for Christmas.
It was quite difficult to buy  that doll, as it's very popular, so you have to be very quick everytime her maker puts them on sale on her website.
Well you know what? when I saw my friend and asked her if her daughter was happy for that beautiful present, she told me that she was going to put the doll away until little C. would understand the true value of such thing...
Now my point is: why are children often attracted by plasticky, glittery, shiny, and environmentally unfriendly stuff?
How much influence has a parent  on the way a child will develop his/her taste and understanding of issues such  as the environment?

Here's a picture of me at 4 with my favourite and only doll, Pippi long stocking...

5.1.10

Today is the first day of school after the Christmas break but she's still at home recovering from chickenpox.
Here she is with a much loved book (especially the hedgehog tale) from dear Ana
Thank you Ana : )))
And I finished her blue cardigan...a good start for my "new year's resolutions"...
And this is one of Anita's favourite songs : )))
