HAVE A LIGHT-ER 2011!

28.12.10

seven things

Playing along with Kerry, I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about me.

Not sure I will tell you seven though, I might bore you, but I thought that maybe I can share this one just to make you laugh! Which accordingly to the seven things to share could be the
second thing: I like to make people laugh, not laughing at me though!
Where was I? Ah, the things about me, so, when I walk, I mainly do two things:
one is that I walk at a very fast pace and the other one is that most of the time I look up.
Result? I tend to bump into signs, poles, walls, corners and when I'm lucky, people!
Just a couple of days ago, I hit my face against a corner so hard that the left cheek
has swollen a bit, so sore that I can't sleep on that side since then.
I also cried like a lamb, which is something that I normally do when I hurt myself (third thing). Because of the fast pace I'm often prone to "freak accidents": once, in a shop I used to work in London, with the lovely Gini (fourth thing)
I managed to stuck a cactus plant in my bum, it got caught on my long scarf and then landed with all the thornes in my back side! the whole scene in front of a lot of people of course, it was quite embarassing, the folks there almost chocked for laughing so much!!!
Another time I was running up the stairs and I stuck my head inside a shelf full of shoe boxes, don't know how I did it though and again lots of people witnessed it. No wonder that sometimes
I feel like him (fifth thing about me).
Although I would love to be more like her or her (sixth).
But I'm quite happy to be what I am...
Would you like to play along? Just do it then because I choose all of you!
Aaaanyway, I like to finish with a quote :

Never complain. Never explain.
Katharine Hepburn

(which is exactly what I never do, and that is the seventh thing I tell you about me!)

Thanks Kerry!

frosty

Today I woke up and looked outside the window,
frost covers everything, the light is beautiful, the trees surreal.
I found myself overwhelmed by the beauty of it.

Severine delicate hand crocheted snow flake.

Uncommon beautiful handmade coaster, from Fen and Ned.

Hello there, what are you up to?
Thanks for your words in my last post : )
Here the second pillow of the series.

Monday morning lost in tedious and unnerving calls to various offices.
Bureaucracy is evil!

Friends are nice: I've received a little sock from her
look at the cactus man project!

Hope your morning was better than mine!

as so ci ations

Another brilliant exhibition I saw yesterday at Kettle Yard,
As so ci ations: video installations by 6 international artists,
exploring the relationships between words, images and the
manipulative use of them.
I took a  photo of Pavel Buchler work.

Knitting project with big wool, let's see what comes out...
Blackboard nesting dolls (thank you A. for the tip!)

+-

It is two days that we are at home, once again Anita is poorly.
We try to balance dvd's watching (she loves sponge bob) and crafting.
She made a paper doll, I'm trying to make a little village of little houses
around our branch tree, which is painted it white now and has fairy lights on it,
it is our official Christmas tree for this year.
But busy little fingers can't stay away from the sand inside the vase!

To make the origami house go here (found via here).

\\\ delightful (is the word, today)

Books is what she receives in abundance at Christmas.
I wanted to show you this (and few more, later on).
It's a pop up book, by Louise Rowe, beautiful subtle colours
nice stylized drawings...be aware that there's a big scary wolf inside!

Look at Wiebke blog, I love this set of photos ; )))
And this blog is delightful (found via another delightful blog : ))
Have a nice Monday

Her (Anita's) enthusiasm is contagious, so here I am preparing for the festivities.
I like to keep everything as much simple (and easy) as possible.
The Advent Calendar is made with little brown paper envelopes and these stamps.
But next year I will follow her example:  this is the coolest a.c. I ever seen around,
oh and this one too, from vdj blog. (But please, if you have other suggestions send me the link).

The seasonal cold hit me too, sniff sniff : (
I will stay warm at home this weekend: which after all is a good thing, because I can't stop
to knit this scarf with beautiful baby alpaca dk (and I have some work to finish... finally).

Home and chocolate goes hand in hand to me: I found these ones and I bought it
because they make me smile.
And I listen this, soothing and beautiful.

(May I ask) What's your plan for the weekend?
: )
Have a nice Saturday and keep warm if you are on this side of the world,
stay cool to the others...
