small changes

I defied the rules of renting by pasting wallpaper on the wall.
Or rather I decided life is too short to live with cream walls.
Blame the weather, I couldn't resist (it's called "Cow Parsley"
and it's by London based wallpaper makers Cole&Son) quite bold, but uplifting.
I tried to take some pics but they are fuzzy,
the light is quite bad, I wanted to show it to you anyway.
The de-cluttering is still going, I'm tackling the mountains of wool I have.

Few people asked about the white lavender
I will post more as soon as the rain stop with the links.

Looking a a cream wall myself here, I am so jealous of you beautiful wallpaper. Amazing how you turned this cream coloured rented house into such a beautiful space. Your landlord should pay you rent.

Your bundle of woollen balls look so enticing and cheery, I would be petrified the moths would get at them in my house eek!

Hi Fanja and mariela, thank you to you too!
Trula, so true, the landlord should pay me, but how stingy she is! you have no idea!!! :D
Kay stop thinking, go for it, a wall is enough and it can change an entire room.
Mdmslle, hello! thank you, have a nice weekend too.

You are right life is too short for plain walls, embrace print, embrace wallpaper, it looks so lovely. I am decluttering as well, mountains for magazine cuttings, why do I it?

Mon Petit Lapin, :D I had a moth problem lately, but not anymore and it wasn't much of a big deal, no real damaged made. I put lavender in any form everywhere, also cedar wood and indian sachets of safe anti moths repellent in every draw and cupboard I have. The most important thing is to air your wool stuff often, keep dust free, and wash carefully any vintage item you bring at home. Never put any woolly item back in your wardrobe for seasonal storage if you haven't wash it.
Hope I don't sound too Martha! :D

Hello Dawn, magazines cuttings are the worst I have 3 huge files of them.Magazines are also a problem, I decided to stick to few of them, I keep the special ones and the most expensive ones, but still I have too many! thank you for popping in :-)

Your wallpaper looks fab! Enjoy your weekend despite the rain! Were I am we have the opposite problem at the moment. I don't know if it is the-grass-is-always-greener-on-the-other-side syndrome, but being under a roasting sun when you are not on a holiday is not much fun either! x

Oh I LOVE that wallpaper!!! Good on you! and thank you so much for posting a closer shot of your plate collection, Alessandra - they are so beautiful :)
I'm very excited about your pop-up shop... I'll be visiting London in September so maybe the dates will align :)
I hope the rain stops and flooding is reduced - it is so terrible. We all seem to be having extreme weather over the last couple of years, it's quite scary.

Beautiful, beautiful wallpaper (I love it too, I saw black version in one book and it's pretty too) and wonderful home. Everything looks so calm and cozy... well done dear! :)

Oh hello Ana, for a moment I thought I was going to get the grey version, but then I realised we need a bright yellow to cheer us up ( most of the year the skies are grey here). Thank you, now I'm on the hunt for a vintage sofa ;-)

Best wall paper ever! I want it now. I too am a renter and will be for some years to come, until at least after grad school, but you want your home to feel like a home.

la casita said...

Hello Alison, same situation here, only dunno until we are going to resist! :D
I agree you want your home feel home no matter where you live.
