30.6.14

two new weavings

Good Monday there,
sorry for the silence,
sometimes happens.
Many reasons why,
lack of inspiration,
too loud out there,
didn't feel to add
my voice
and make more noise.

two new wall hangings for sale here,
from a series called "Harlequin",
off course.

14.6.14

finish the unfinished project

A couple of days ago I read this post written by Karen Templer
on her blog fringe association.
The post inspired me to take out of my "knitting and crochet" drawer
all those half done projects and count them.
When I realised there were too many (twenty) I decided to do
something about it.
I put them all on the floor, looked at them and resolved to keep
ten to finish before the end of the year.

From next year I won't be making more than two projects at a time,
which will help me curb my enthusiasm on stash hoarding, making
me save money and space, giving me more time to think about what
I really want/need to knit or crochet

If you too have some unfinished knitting or crochet projects,
join me either on instagram (by tagging a picture of all your
unfinished projects you want to finish before 31.12.14 using
#finishtheunfinishedkc2014), or by adding your photos on the
flickr pool finish the unfinished kc 2014.

Looking forward to see your projects!

it's not about what you say, it's about what you do.

Mint tea calls for sesame biscuits.

I sit down and think, then let it all go.

Thank you Olga for your delicate work.

Berlin, impressions.

Our visit to Berlin:

It rained a lot.
We walked a lot.
We talked a lot.
We ate a lot.
We learnt a lot.
We laughed (a lot).
The kids nagged a lot.
I said "no" a lot.

1 Alexanderplatz
2 TVtower
3 Brandenburg Gate
4 the remnants of the Berlin Wall
5 Ai Weiwei
(for those who have one foot in two shoes)
6 Tempelhofer
(urban allotments on raised beds, with tables and chairs for all,
made with recycled and up-cycled materials).

23.5.14

a new addition

In this issue you'll find how to care about spider plants, one of the easiest
plant to grow at home, very resilient and hard to kill.
I like this magazine very much because it makes you travel around the world,
to see things in different ways and most of all it's unpretentious.
If you don't know this magazine already, I hope you'll give it a go,
far from the usual garden/plants magazine, it covers an array of topics,
from botanical lifestyle, real people, landscapes
all in a spontaneous and fresh approach.

(I'm a bit behind with my new website and shop,
since issue 6 of the plant journal is out I added it in my bigcartel shop,
until my new site is ready).

+

few new pieces from Japan in my home.

I'm knitting a pair of socks with a yarn from habu (leaf green) I hope to
finish them before I'll go to Berlin.

Have a nice weekend.

19.5.14

copper and greens

Hello there,

it's been a bit quiet here, all the opposite in real life.
I received sad news and also good news.
The sad news worry me.
The good news is that I'll go on holiday soon.

+

A new plant hanger with a copper base in my bigcartel shop.

I'm working on a new website, with a  new webshop and blog.
I hope to show it to you soon.
La casita will close the doors once the new website is on...
I think it's time to turn page.

_

A lot of sunshine in the last few days,
we spent a lazy sunday in our thrifty garden,
eating, drinking rose lemonade and playing.

A big thank you for your orders and your support,
the latest orders are on your way.

9.5.14

shop update

Hello there, friday finally.
I've been busy updating my little shop.
You'll find some handmade and some vintage.
It's the last update in that site, some changes
on the way.

Thank you for visiting.

back in the shop

I've made new plant hangers,
few of them in the e-shop for the next update:
friday 9th.

(plants not included)

2.5.14

new weaving + more succulents

A new wall hanging I finished yesterday.

+

Crassula ovata or 'jade plant', I have it for six years now.
It was a tiny cutting when I got it, it has grown unruly as I don't cut it to shape it.
I've taken few leaves and tiny branches to propagate this one too
along with several sedum leaves and cuttings.

I've been looking for this plant (crassula umbella) for ages but never managed to find it,
sometimes when you stop searching for something you'll find it.
Mmmh.

experimenting

I got this ceropegia woodi by post, it was just a couple of strings.
It has grown a bit since then, and moved a lot around the house
because it seemed unhappy everywhere, until I found the best place for her
which happens to be the bathroom.
Today I noticed some tubers along the stems,
I cut them out and re-potted some on the vase,
others in cardboard pots to start new plants.
Will see what happens.

+

A pile of cloths, just because they look arty
(still in the same chair waiting to be folded).

Wish you a fine weekend.
