40+2

Today I went into retreat in my favourite place in town: the local bookshop.
Three floors of great books, the smell of wood and paper,
nice staff who offer you coffee
or tea while you are browsing through the shelves.
Then you can sit down and get lost in your readings.
And I bought this book which made me laugh so much!
The perfect way to celebrate my birthday in peace.
Then of course I made a cake with Anita and she gave me lots of extra cuddles.
I like it like this.
Honestly, I'm not so keen on becoming one year older each year,
can we celebrate after every two years instead?

this bookshop seems to be a place to get lost. we have a charming little bookstore here too, where they offer you a coffee, when they notice that you want to stay for a while :)

Happy happy birthday dear Alessandra!

I too like it like that. Beginning with a browse through a civilized and tasteful bookstore (please point me in the direction) and quiet, little treats, family - the best.

Oh! Happy Birthday!

This would be how I would want to spend my birthday too. I'm very envious of your perfect bookstore. Ours is the enormous Barnes and Noble...and they make you pay for your coffee. :-)

I think the every two year idea is a good one. Time goes so fast it would really feel like one year anyway.

Have a lovely day.

To all: THANK YOU... and of course another treat is to have fellow bloggers who wish you a happy bday!

Unfortunately indipendent bookshops struggle to survive, that's why I tend to buy less books but at full price to support this local treasure!

hugs

What a lovely way to spend a birthday. Bookshops are good for the soul - particularly independents.
