yummie, I love to make jam too, I'm making now with rubarb and peach and a bit of orange zeste.
Love your doggie too :-)

exploding cucumber of course from my point of view...in Italy was still Summer but when we came back here it wasn't too bad it was sunny, the rain came two days ago for us. There's a joke about the microclimate we have here in flatland and in Cambridge doesn't rain as much as in the capital.
:0)

Maria thank you :)))

Renilde rhubarb and peach and orange zest sound very intriguing.
happy jamming ;^)

mmmmm ! next time I found some blackberries ,I'll made jam too , so could you give us your recipe ?

alessandra said...

mathilda it's easy, weigh your fruits and then add the same amount of sugar and chuck in a couple of crab apples,(for the pectin) add a bit of water let it cook until if you spoon a bit on a cold plate it will wrinkle.
Get a reasonable fine colander and let the jam separate from the fruits (but only if they are hard, otherwise leave them)wait until it's cold and then pour it in sterilised jars.
good hunting.

ahhh nice , Nath, our is already finished.
It's raining here otherwise I would have gone to get more...
It makes me sad to see lots of gardens around here with trees full of fruits and nobody harvest them!
2 weeks ago we were trying to get some plums, just to taste it, from a branch leaning on the road of a tree inside a garden (is this stealing? ) and an old lady shouted at us, today I was walking that way and I saw the poor plums rotten on the pavement!
Bravo I wanted to shout at her!
So so sad.
