let's turn page

My mind is at ease when my hands are working.
Since I'm always making something, my hands are rough
and my nails a disgrace!
I often get comments from people that suggest me that something
has to be done  for my nails, but I'm crap at manicure and I rather
spend the money on some material than to go to a beautician!
Lately I've been busy renovating Anita's bedroom: with a tight budget
I just re-painted basically almost everything, even the dolls house
I made for her is now white.
For the walls I used "strong white" from F&B, a very nice greyish
shade of white that reminds me of the colour of the flour.
In Italy I bought some beautiful linen (made of linen) and that is
my next project: a quilt for her bed. What are you up to?
Below a hint of what I did.
The sun shines and I feel OK.

Yep, the best thing to do in stressful times is make something beautiful... or bake! The paint being the color of flour, you just about have both :)

Looks great and so glad you're feeling better!

Oh it looks so cute. The white walls look so fresh especially with the touches of pink. The lights are magical which I think are a must in a little girls room.

Its beautiful. I have a huge urge to paint our rooms white and get rid of the pale yellow, buts its not our place. So for now i am working on making the 3 kids bed covers too. From hand dyed batik printed fabric.
One thing i do miss right now in our new home is your cloud ....i only came with a limited amount of things, hopefully it will join us again one day.

p.s. i am the same with spending money on my nails.

anita's made-over room looks wonderful!

i've also had problems with my nails breaking and chipping a lot, it's much better after i've started taking a biotin supplement (i know that supplements are fiercly debated, but this one really helps me).

p.s.: thanks for your suggestions on my food question - i had porridge with poached quince this morning, and it was delicious!

nails? My nails are child alike, cutted short in neat contrast with the last fashion style which in Italy, maybe you already know, calls for fake and decorated nails. Beauty and cheap saloons are growing up everywhere here.
(I think people should offer their suggestions to the wind sometimes, if they think of someone else's nail).
Anyway, Anita's room is beautiful, simplicity is the best and you are always in time to add pieces if you want. Your pics are always lovely.
I hope everything is ok, Alessandra. I wish you a magic 2012.
Un abbraccio!
