DIY project + plants

It's arrived after the holidays in a little box, the plant looked
quite healthy despite the fact that it has stayed two days with
no light whatsoever, but, I over-watered it and now it looks a bit sad.
I then made a hanging planter, with leather and wooden beads,
inspired by the one I saw a while ago on weekday carnival.
I think it came out quite ok, hope the little plant will recover.

On the stool there's the baby pilea Jo gave to me  the last september
at that time it had only two shots, she's growing nicely.

Caring for plants it makes me feel good.

the string of hearts likes it very dry, so try not to take care of it:) it´s hard, i know, to cut down on watering them...

i´m dreaming of owning a pilea now for quite some time...

I guess it's the "mamma" in us to over water and over feed things. I've been doing the same with my succulents and it's hard to back off. For most people succulents are easy! ;^)

Love your decor. You've got such a talent for that.

good luck with the babies :)
maybe you already know, but the pilea turns yellow in direct sunlight.

Ah Janis, you said it, i'm not good with succulents and cactus too, I tend to kill cactus as i can't never balance the amount of water, either too much or too little. Succulents tend not to last much with me, said so I have a survivor who is doing pretty well, is becoming really big and I know need to learn how to cut it back and propagate it. thanks for the compliment Janis x

thank you Renilde, no I didn't know! but I never put it on direct sunlight. I have experienced in the past that those kind of green leaves are very delicate and don't like direct sunlight. I worry about over watering though! ;^)

Renilde, I see what you mean...I can spot already some yellowing on my pilea leaves better to move it in a more suitable place! thanks for the advice!

I also have a string of hearts - my florist told me to water it from the bottom because if you water it from the top there is a danger it may go moldy. It looks lovely in your handmade hanger. Thanks for sharing.

thank you :)
Lois Henry, thank you for the tip! I almost killed the plant by over-watering, when it arrived it was pretty dry and I put it under the tap! I almost drowned it...
BUt it's much better now, I rescue it, by putting it near a sunny window-sill, then I bought a second one that it hangs on the hanger.
I now spray them, instead of watering them and it seems that they are doing fine.
Finger crossed...
